Riverine, even by your stds, i have simple tastes. often, my salwar, kameez and dupatta have absolutely no connection with one another. and i wear another version of hawai chappals.
if i had less generous, less tolerant bosses, i'd have been fired by now. hehe.
Aakashave beelali mele should be sung by the man to his woman. I'd rather my husband show his love to me by NOT singing. he is great in most things but not, not not in singing.

Hey Riverine

I didn't know that BB is a teacher. Thanks for sharing the news. I'm sure kids would be enjoying BB's company. She seems to be a fun-loving n cheerful person. I know you would be a positive influence on the bigger children. Cheers and Regards.

Bharatborn

Just un-ironed faded salwars? It should be non-matching with an unrelated dupatta and hawaii chappals for me to talk of simplicity

Did you sing Aakaashave Beelali Mele’ and ‘Cheluvaada Muddaada, Nimmanthe’ to Mr. Bharatborn?

I too liked the song esp. Kishore's voice and the tune (just like you) though I could follow the lyrics too...but like my younger son puts in any word he fancies into songs he likes, I guess the music has its own charm and lyrics are the icing...

MU, from my perception of Bharatborn through my interaction with her, I feel your description is accurate...she is also a teacher like me, you know? Just that I send my little one to the kindergarten (like the one she teaches in) and escape for 4 hours to be with bigger children...she sends her big girls to college and goes to be with nursery/KG children...

Nice, enjoyable intro of a person I enjoy too

Meera, thanks. seems to me these songs are universally popular.

Roba, nimge kannada barthade antha nange modale gothhithhu. from your recipes and i think you studied in M'lore, no? yes, jotheyali is also a nice song.
dwit, thanks. insights?

Sunita, yes the old songs are lovely. but there is another aspect to it. today's songs receive too much exposure.
hehe, you know one sentence in kannada. Suni I almost know one song in Marathi, 'Keshava Madhava...'

Soumya, thanks. the tragedy is so many women can relate to that definition.
